Game Review: Rebuild

Haven't found the time to do much miniature gaming lately. It's usually what I do to pass the time when the wife and kids are out of town but they've been staying home lately. In the meantime though I discovered a pretty cool little zombie themed flash game that I'd like to share with any readers out there. It's called Rebuild and it can be found here: http://twotowersgames.com/games/rebuild-zombie/

Rebuild is a turn based strategy game in which you start with a small band of survivors and you slowly rebuild and reclaim a town overrun with the walking dead. The graphics are pretty simple but the strategy elements have some depth. I like that there are multiple ways to win (through science, military might, or by forming a government) and the buildings feel well balanced in terms of usefulness. A very enjoyable game that I've had fun with even after multiple plays. My only complaint is that scavengers felt useless. Maybe it was just my play style, but scavenging seemed like a waste of manpower that could be better spent on other tasks. I recommend keeping a couple on hand for scouting the surroundings but focusing your efforts on training soldiers, scientists and builders instead.
